2000 β 2006B.Sc Mathematics, Agra College. Smart, but unfocused. A dreamer who couldn't find the door. Prepared for IAS/IPS β the typical Indian household path β but the bureaucratic reality clashed with who I was. Took a part-time job selling credit cards door-to-door in 2006 just to keep moving.
The Struggle & Learning: Handling daily rejection on the streets was my first real education. It taught me how to read people, handle instant refusal without ego, and communicate under intense pressure. My love of technology never died. It was just waiting for direction.
Jaipur β The Decision That Changed Everything
2007I fell in love. She is now my wife. I needed to become someone worth choosing. Moved to Jaipur alone β no savings, no contacts, no guarantee.Three things running in parallel: call center night shifts to pay rent, English speaking classes in the morning, CCNA labs during the day. Secured a Quality Operator role at Ericsson India Pvt Ltd β seeing enterprise telecom networks for the first time.
The Tech & Learning: I was configuring OSPF and EIGRP on Cisco 2600 routers in Packet Tracer until 3 AM. I became the standout student in my CCNA batch β not by studying harder, but because I was genuinely obsessed with how packets traveled across the world. Hard work is just a byproduct of true obsession.
Delhi β HCL Infosystems & The Gravity of Uptime
May 2008 β Mar 2009Married in March 2008. Moved to Delhi. Struggled initially, then secured an OJT Network Admin role at HCL Infosystems Ltd, managing Artemis Hospital IT β Cisco ASA 5510 firewalls, DMZ isolation, Site-to-Site IPSec & Remote Access VPN, EPABX telephony, Active Directory, and MRTG / WhatsUp Gold telemetry.
The Struggle & Learning: I was thrown into the deep end. A misconfigured VLAN or firewall rule meant doctors couldn't access patient life-support records. The pressure was immense. I learned that in a hospital, a network drop isn't an SLA ticket; it's patient safety. Uptime isn't just a metric, it's a responsibility. I learned to quadruple-check every CLI command before hitting enter.
Spectranet β The Iron Age & Rooftop Mastery
Mar 2009 β Dec 2010Field Engineer. Joined specifically to master WAN β find the gap, go fill it. Configured production BGP routing, Juniper SRX firewalls, and fiber MAN rings. Cleared CCNA.
The Struggle & Learning: Every day meant climbing 10-story Delhi rooftops in 45Β°C summer heat to physically align WiMAX directional antennas. If the signal dropped below -82 dBm / 12 dB SNR, the link would flap. Every night, I would recreate the production network in GNS3 labs till 2 AM, simulating the BGP route reflectors I'd seen in the field. Leadership begins in the mud β if you don't understand the physical layer, you're just guessing at higher layers.

Jan 2011 β Feb 2014Promoted to Assistant Manager at age 26, leading a team of 11 engineers spread across India.Built two Tier-3 Data Centers from scratch β from empty concrete warehouse space to operational IaaS. Managed Precision Air Conditioning (PAC) thermal limits, Cacti Spine C-pollers, and Linux RHEL initrd P2V migrations.
The Tech & Learning: Building a DC meant learning HVAC cooling, power loads, and MP-BGP routing simultaneously. We rolled out MP-BGP Dual-Stack IPv6 in 2012, years before most enterprises could even spell it. I learned that true engineering leadership is building resilient systems cable-to-cloud, while empowering your team to operate them without you.

Feb 2014 β Aug 2017Technical Lead of 18 security engineers, serving as the single point of escalation for high-severity incident war rooms. Managed complex multi-vendor firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto App-ID, Cisco Firepower FTD), and built Python Netmiko/Paramiko automation scripts. Awarded "Maestro of the Quarter" and "Best Engineer".
The Struggle & Learning: The biggest challenge was migrating 300+ Virtual Servers from legacy Cisco ACE 4710 hardware controllers to F5 LTM virtual appliances. I had to write complex Tcl iRules to handle custom persistence and HTTP header manipulation, achievingzero client downtime. High-stakes migrations aren't about the technology; they're about exhaustive risk mitigation and bulletproof rollback plans.

Aug 2017 β Feb 2020VMware NSX Consultant & Transition/Transformation Co-Architect in IBM Cloud (SoftLayer). Designed multi-tenant Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) architectures from scratch to lift and shift on-premise enterprise environments.
The Tech & Learning: Tasked with a zero-IP-change bulk live migration of 500+ production enterprise VMs, we used VMware HCX and integrated Arista Hardware VTEPs via OVSDB bridges into Geneve/VXLAN overlays. When migrations stalled at 2 AM, I was writing PowerCLI & PowerNSX end-to-end automation pipelines to ensure deterministic failovers. Cloud transformation succeeds or fails entirely on the strength of its automation pipelines.
NTT Data Services β Financial Sector Cloud & Zero-Touch Automation
Feb 2020 β Sep 2022Systems Integration Specialist Advisor. Designed, managed, and automated high-security private cloud environments for major financial sector clients handling mission-critical transaction streams. Executed zero-downtime fleet upgrades across hundreds of production NSX environments.
The Struggle & Learning: Financial clients demanded extreme security and rapid scaling. I built declarative Tier-0/1 routing automation via NSX-T Policy APIs, self-service vRealize Automation (vRA) YAML cloud templates, Ansible Tower Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) pipelines, and Kubernetes NCP CNI translations. This slashed tenant onboarding timelines from 21 days β 90 seconds. In enterprise infrastructure, if a process isn't codified in a pipeline, it's a liability.
